Good as a guy can be, given what we've been through. A little banged up and a little singed but not the worst for wear! Poor Meddy got themselves in, like, a million tizzies though. So many checkups, ack.

What about you? Are you okay?

Meddy??? Glad you've passed those checkups. I've got to admit between your plan and the lightning, I was starting to get nervous for you. I figured you didn't need me being a mother hen.

And I'm good. Mostly. Gotta admit all this talk about darkness has me worried I won't be for long.

Meddy! Three feet, hovers, red and white and very cute but don't them that. They're my medical drone and, basically, my very own mother hen so don't worry about someone not filling in that role.

Do you need a checkup, Steve? Meddy is kind of finished fussing over me since I'm, more or less, in the clear, but they're pretty antsy. I think they'll love to do a scan of someone who isn't super reckless and stuff, haha.

Between you and me I can be super reckless at times. I've been pretty well-behaved lately.

That said, consider that a yes from me. I wouldn't mind seeing the little guy assuming he doesn't take offense to that.

Just so I don't get lost. [ or crash into someone else's room.

I'll do you one better. [Two minutes later, Day will be receiving a picture of a detailed map from the kitchen to his room drawn by hand.]

[ sooner rather than later, daylight manages to stick his head through the opening of steve's rooms. his optics are practically sparkling in the excitement, all ten feet of daylight visibly vibrating in excitement. ]

Hey Steve! [ he waves a greeting to steve the moment he makes eye contact with him. the smile on his face is undeniable and his winglets are fluttering in joy. ] I got here in time for once!

( action. ) - in which rose is ironically late

[Steve looks happy to see him as he opens the door the rest of the way. He's pretty desensitized to the fantastic at this point, but even he has to concede that is such a cool look. He has to draw this later.] Hey! Sorry for the staring. I've never seen a robot that tall before this close. My friend's bots are little guys.

[He waves him in.] Why are you always late to things?

[ daylight shrugs cheerfully, used to staring by this point. certainly not the meanest thing that could be done to him. ]

I'm always late to stuff because this place is huge! [ daylight gestures wildly as he walks in, trying to be careful with his surroundings. being over ten feet tall is hard. it’s hard and a lot don’t understand when they’re not over ten feet tall. ]

I keep getting lost whenever I travel without Meddy to remind me where to go. That, and I keep forgetting to ask people directions for their rooms here. I keep going into empty ones or a room that has someone else in it. [ talk about first encounters. ]
