That whole mission in the eye- Kind of puts thing in perspective, huh? I remember Auntie Laura once saying if you're close enough to the storms, you can taste the ozone when lightning strikes.

he's hung out around nightbreak and emergency aid enough to know when someone is trying to keep things 'simple' at this point. but he's willing to let it go, knowing when to wait. ]
I am definitely going to petition Lady Astoria to let us go somewhere that doesn't have robot-death storms. Or death storms in general. Is that too much to ask, is it? [ he hopes it isn't too much to ask. ]

daylight doesn't reply right off the bat. instead he's switching from text to video, the screen suddenly showing a napping meddy bundled up in a nest of pillows and blankets - the design seems to hint their origins from el minha's marketplace - before it turns to a drawing pinned to a wall.
it's a black and white sketch of akira spending time iwai, somehow capturing an instance where iwai is looking up at akira after being fed his meal. akira is smiling, animated, and in the motion of speaking to daylight. from the way daylight draws iwai's position and expression, it seems he's looking at akira with affection. grumpy affection but affection all the same.
while some details are a little wonky - akira's neck can't be that long, and surely his hair isn't that fluffy - its' clear daylight tried to capture what he thought was the emotions of the moment.
daylight speaks up, sounding nervous and worried. ] Sooooo... Thoughts?

[Akira's spent enough time with Yusuke to understand a little bit about art. he isn't a master critic or anything, but he's learned how to read the emotions of a piece, and whether they're dull or full of life. and even if some of Daylight's details are off? the entire piece is lively enough that Akira doesn't think it matters]
It's amazing.
[he says that immediately, gaze drawn towards Iwai in particular and the personality Daylight gives an otherwise ordinary racing gecko. so much color in an otherwise plain, black-and-white drawing!1]

[ there's a faint sound of fwish-fwish-fwish in the background. most likely? that happens to be his winglets, happily wiggling in joy to hear akira's approval.
daylight tries to keep a steady hand while he continues to record the drawing while speaks, trying to keep himself in check but ohbythedustnadrust akira likes it!! score!!! ]
I'm happy to hear that!! [ he is. he really is. ] I hope Iwai likes it too when he gets to see it for himself.

[he wouldn't mind taking it, but. . .! it's Daylight's art project. he worked so hard on it, and Akira's surprised he'd give it away so easily. then again, Yusuke did gift him Desire and Hope]

[ there's a faint tone of nostalgia as daylight continues to speak, no doubt remebering something from his past: ] Auntie Chris once said that art is a message from one's heart, a communication for something you can't really put into words.
'Art is when words themselves fail to describe the image you see in yourself. Art is when you take matters into your own hands, and build the image itself as you see it.' Those are her words, and I like to think if something really comes from the heart, you shouldn't be afraid to share it or let someone else have it.
