APPLICATION 🔥 ( IN THE NIGHT. )
I'm going to be released from behind these lines
And I don't care whether I live or die
And I'm losing blood, I'm gonna leave my bones
And I don't want your heart, it leaves me cold
I don't want your future
I don't need your past
One bright moment
Is all I ask
I'm going to leave my body
(Moving up to higher ground)
I'm going to lose my mind
(Your history keeps pulling me down)
Said I'm going to leave my body

I'm going to lose my mind

World Description:
This universe is a fantastical and frightening place. On one planet there's a chance of them running across the Cephylia, a peaceful race of amphibious aliens who communicate through 'song'. On another planet, there's a chance of stumbling across the machinations of the strange and eerie Essentialists, a group of mysterious and ancient aliens that are more Lovecraftian than extraterrestrial in both their design and their approach to the universe. This universe is known officially as the Nadir Cluster and is always changing, always becoming something else entirely thanks to the large, large cast of characters that call this universe their home.
One of the most important events that happened in the Nadir Cluster is the Legacy War. After overthrowing their colonisers, the Essentialists, the mechanoid race known as the Galateions soon devolved into a long and bloody war when an argument between what to do next and the assassination of an important rebel leader caused the revolutionaries to splinter into two distinct groups - The Automatons and the Dreadroids. The war will span for centuries, planets, and galaxies. The Automatons will win the war in the year 2063 but the consequences of this war are staggering. Worlds are left barren and uninhabitable thanks to Dreadroids' reckless raiding and pillaging for precious resources. Over a quadrillion lives are lost from the warfare, many of them being non-combatants from other worlds that got caught in the crossfire. Races are now inherently suspicious of any Galateion they see, believing any individual fuelled by arc fuel and energy are monsters.
The year is now 2241 and the repercussions for the space-wide war is still being felt. Galateon, the home planet of Galateions, has been restored to its former glory and is slowly but surely trying to build back relations with other worlds again. Earth, the final battlegrounds for the Automatons and Dreadroids' decisive battles, is a major player in the complicated politics of the galaxies. Powerhouse and empires and governments have fallen and risen and fallen again, all having varying ideas of how to achieve universal peace for all.
The most important thing to note is this: Most galaxies are still wary of Galateions, the sight of them bringing painful memories to organic and non-organic races alike. It'll be a long time before the scars of war are healed and forgiven and it will not be an easy road when reaching towards that goal - Especially when the opposition is both fierce and determined to make Galateions pay for their crimes against the galaxy.

History:
Becoming an orphan while still a baby due to circumstances outside of his control, Daylight was raised on the stories of his parents and his family and his loved ones being heroes, legends, and game changers of the very universe he lived in. His mother was one of the greatest intergalactic ambassadors to grace the political stage. His father was a decorated war veteran of the Legacy War, the one who brought back the Wandering Wonders who helped usher in some semblance of peace on a dying world.
As a result of the influence and the people who raised him, Daylight wanted to travel the stars and make his mark on the worlds out there. He would later run away from his current guardians - Breakthrough and Kingsguard - since, while they meant well, they were stifling him with their overprotectiveness. Daylight knew he would never get to have the adventures he wanted to have and had to leave. He ends up joining the Lornful Light, the famous starship that his mother and father were part of. (More or less stowing away, yeah, but details.) He then has a series of adventures over the years, acquiring new powers and new friends along the way.
His latest adventure so far is his supposed chance encounter with a Furian scholar named Erinyes Euryale. Daylight ended up forming a close relationship with her - bonding over many things they surprisingly had a lot in common, from the lost of the family and being affected by the Great War they never asked for - only for him to find out she was part of a group of radical extremists. One that was determined to wipe out Galateions from the galaxy as revenge for the Legacy War. In their eyes, there could be no peace if the Galateions continued to exist. Especially the ones heavily involved in the legacy war that took everything from Erin.
Erin had integrated herself into Daylight's life in order to gain access to the Lornful Light and, thus, her real target: The long thought dead leader of the Dreadroids, Nemesism, who had his processors and identity stripped of him after the war's conclusion. She almost got away with her assassination attempt, too, if not for Daylight's last-minute intervention by taking the fatal shot.

Death:
Daylight is torn apart by the shot he takes for Nemesism. Though he survives the almost-fatal injury in his canon, it's flat out fatal here and he dies from his injuries, there and then, despite the best efforts from his friends and fellow crewmates who rushed to the scene.
What are your plans for this character in-game?
In order of priority:
He'll want to help others.
When he learns of the others who have been here for a long time, Daylight is going to do whatever he can to improve their lives. Exploration to broaden the horizon of the town. Going out on missions to protect the people or get needed supplies. Things like that.
Most of all, he wants the others there to be able to live without fear or without wondering if they'll survive the next day. He was raised with the beliefs and the views that everyone should be able to live. Not just survive. Not just get by. Live their life without the worries or anxieties of struggling for their lives.
He'll want to figure out the mystery of what's going on.
Daylight will be intrigued by the events around him and want to dig deeper to learn what's really happening behind the scenes. He'll not only want to figure it out but try to solve it, believing that if he commits to something, by gosh, he's going to commit all the way.
The moment he finds out about the mysterious thing going on re: the light and the lack of it, he'll be willing to give the people of Beacon a hand. He might have convinced himself that he isn't clever as Dialup or resourceful as Emergency Aid or ruthless as Nightbreak, but Day will see his promise through, if possible.
He'll want to find a way to go back home or get closure.
When all is said and done, Daylight is going to want to find a way. Even if he's told that this is impossible, Daylight is going to be too stubborn to believe that.
If that's not possible then Daylight would like for a chance to make peace of what had happened. Being cut down at the height of his life in such a sudden and brutal fashion is going to be jarring for him. He's going to need time and support to realise what happened to him is pretty messed up.

What aspects of this game and/or it is setting are you most interested in having this character engage with?
Exploration and investigation.
Daylight is a well-meaning character, always eager to help others. Not only is he gun ho to help, but he's also actually trained for this sort of thing. He's a member for one of the fireteams of the Lornful Light, acting as a scout and has been trained to be fast and to be useful somehow, anyone, if a fight breaks out.
The element of mystery is also something that will draw Daylight in. He's a curious sort, always eager to dig right into the mystery of things. Even if it's at his detriment. Daylight believes the most important thing an individual can have is the truth and the facts, even if it hurts.
Interaction and reaction.
My favourite thing about these type of games is making a visible and viable impact on the setting. Being able to make changes due to the actions we make or don't make it, the game, fun on both a player and character level. It's always a thrilling experience for me to look back at previous event logs and see how different they were at the start, or how there have been sizeable updates and/or changes to the locations or settings or NPCs pages.
Speaking of NPCs - Being able to interact with the NPCs and learn their thoughts and views is also something I look forward to in the game. Knowing the characters' actions don't only affect themselves but the others who also happen to be there is something that I enjoy. There's an element of consideration and planning the characters (and, in turn, the characters) have to make when making big decisions during events and that's something I want Daylight to remember.

How does your character generally get along with other people?
Daylight gets along with most people since he's a sociable and friendly individual. He's always happy to meet new faces and loves learning everything and anything he can about them, especially if they had an adventurous or interesting life. He tries to treat others with respect and tries to be friendly to everyone he meets, wanting to put a good foot forward. While he can be too emotional at times, he only means well and wants to help.
He's also very much a team player - Loyalty is a trait he upholds and has been raised on the idea that bonds and ties with others are everything. Everyone wins if they all work together and, no matter how impossible or difficult that maybe, Daylight wants to see those ideals through. He will pull out all the stops for those he cares for, willing to move heaven and earth since he only the best for them. Daylight can be someone's best personal cheerleader as a result, egging them on and letting them know they can do anything if they put their mind to it.

What is your character's mental state upon entering the game?
In a nut shell...

Seriously...
Not that great. Not only did he die from violent death, but he'll be reeling from the shock of being betrayed since he saw who was the one who pulled the trigger. He'll be upset and a little confused, no doubt feeling overwhelmed by the turn of events he's going through.
But he won't let that stop him from trying to give a hand when it's needed. Despite everything that happened to him, Daylight is going to try his hardest to move forward. And when I mean forward, I mean he'll most likely ignore what happened to him and try to be bubbly and cheerful as ever. As if nothing ever happened to him. If asked about his death, he'll be vague and say things 'happened' and be reluctant to give details.
Perhaps not the healthiest response but it's a response and he's trying to make the best of it. That said: He will take betrayals and lies much more personally, however, and be unhappy if the information is withheld or lied about. He doesn't trust like that. Not anymore thanks to Erin.

Skills/Abilities:
ETERNAL EFFICIENCY SYSTEM
Due to his unique physiology thanks to being a successful hybrid between a human and a Galatieon, Daylight is special in a very important way: His system's core — or ‘heart’ in the closest equivalent in human terminology — is able to both pump out and consume arc fuel and energy at a steady and consistent rate. It’s a sort of Ouroboros situation but this is good for him as it means he never needs to worry about running low on fuel or energy unlike normal Galateions, who need a regular intake of arc fuel to continue functioning in a proper manner.
This little quirk of Daylight's is officially known as an 'eternal efficiency system' after it was discovered and because of how it works, this means Daylight does not need to eat or drink sustenance to keep himself alive or healthy. (Not that he can eat if he wanted to at any given time. Thanks to his systems being a weird mishmash of two very different races of organic and nonorganic species, Daylight has a strict diet that he must adhere to at all costs if he wants to eat. If he attempts to consume something that his body cannot process for whatever reason, his body will force him to purge it out of his systems for his own safety.)
ARC ENERGY MANIPULATION/GENERATION
There are times he produces too much arc energy thanks to adrenaline/boosts in his systems during combat or other stressful situations. Daylight uses this to his advantage, however, and can now summon and control the excess arc energy he produces. He's been taught and trained to gather up the excess arc energy to use as he sees fit. Often using it in combat by attacking at his opponents through energy blasts or fuelling his Arc Gun as ammunition or using it to shock his opponents.
He can also force himself to produce the excess energy to manipulate as he sees fit, discovering this ability by accident while goofing around with friends one day. It’s an ability he can call up at any time — If he's willing to go through the dangerous risk of energy bleed out and a deadly system shutdown, should he abuse his system’s core too much by demanding it to generate excess arc energy more than it should since the whole point of his eternal efficiency system is supposed to keep him at equilibrium.
POWER ADJUSTMENT
In order to not break the game setting, I'll scale this power down. Daylight will be unable to use this ability a lot of times, instead of being limited to using it five times a day. If he uses it more times than he's allotted to, he'll be at higher risk of energy bleed out or his powers backfiring.
AVATAR HOLOFORM GENERATION
One of the special things that Daylight inherited from his father's genetics is that he can produce a hardlight avatar holoform when he willingly enters into stasis mode. Known informally as an avaform, Daylight can project this holoform out and be able to still interact with the world around him should circumstances demand it. He can hold and feel things with his avaform but can't eat or drink because it'll go straight to the floor otherwise.
Daylight's avaform looks like his father's avaform in the past: A tall man with dark eyes who likes to wear bomber jackets and tinted aviator shades. Though, thanks to being influenced by his mind and his surroundings when growing up, Daylight's avaform is younger in appearance and happens to be sporting his mother's naturally dark hair instead of father's vivid red/yellow curls.
POWER ADJUSTMENT
As agreed upon with the moderators, Daylight's ability here has been adjusted to keep it from breaking the game:
It will be limited to shorter distances, within the unlocked map. He can only travel as far as he can still be able to see some part of the town. After that and he's essentially stuck behind an invisible wall, of sorts. Not only that but Daylight using the avaform won't mean he'll be free of consequences like he usually was if something happened to it. If Daylight were to send his avaform out into the woods to explore in his place, whatever reason, he would still be susceptible to consequences similar to if he was exploring as himself.
FORCE FIELD GENERATION
Like his mother, Daylight has the ability to silently summon a shield around himself and others. It comes in the form of a nearly invisible dome that encases Daylight and those around him, often shimmering a faint gold and red sheen if its struck. It's immune to most physical attacks like blows, cannon blasts, shots, and so on though it will cave in to pressure and force if it's applied long enough against it. Though he has no need for it, the shield is able to generate its own internal atmosphere, allowing individuals to survive in it should they need such factors such as breathing air and consistent temperature.
Daylight is able to not only summon his shield with little effort but he can increase the size at will or send it or multiple other shields to protect other individuals within five hundred feet of his range of vision. A setback of this power is how this can wear him out easily, just like how it could wear out his mother*, and cause him to experience energy bleed out and cause backfiring — His arc energy becoming too difficult to control and exploding as a result.
* - To explain what happens when this occurs: If Daylight wears himself out from reaching his limit of generating/maintaining the field or the field is broken, Daylight cannot use his ability to generate/manipulate arc energy for the rest of the day. If he tries to do so, his systems will automatically register this attempt as a systems bleed out, causing the arc energy to backfire/basically explode on him. Added to the app as part of the discussion with the moderators!
POWER ADJUSTMENT
As agreed upon with the moderators during discussion of Daylight's ability, it has been scaled down in the following ways:
Daylight will be unable to use this ability indefinitely. Like his generation/manipulation of arc energy, he will be limited to using this five times a day. If he tries to use it more than that, it'll be considered wearing himself out. Not only that but the force field can only be used five times a day, it also only lasts for a definite amount of time. It'll only be up for three (3) minutes and become progressively weaker as time winds down.
(So for the first minute, it'll be immune to most physical attacks like blows, cannon blasts, shots and so on. Two minutes in, shots from weapons like guns or arrows can get through, though their impact is dampened by having to get through the field. Three minutes in and any physical blow can cause the force field to cave in and dissolve.
If the force field is broken by an outside force and not brought down by him, that will wear him out.)
The ability to send/move around his force field to others will be scaled down from five hundred feet to one hundred feet. The setting of the game is in the night and he won't be able to see much without the much needed light sources, hence this adjustment.
Finally, his ability to bring up multiple other shields to other individuals has been removed altogether. He's only able to bring up one shield that can protect up to two people in it and must now choose where the shield goes and to whom.
MACHINERY ASSIMILATION
Another unique thing about him is that Daylight can graft/assimilate outside parts of machinery unto his body and have his frame accept it as another extension of itself. It’s not easy as this description is making it sound, however. For one thing, it takes time and effort for Daylight’s frame to adjust to this new piece of equipment, since there’s a risk of it opting to reject the machine outright if it deems it too foreign.
And if his frame does accept the new installation, he'll still need to learn how to use the new extension of himself. Almost like how one learns how to swim. An example of this being one of the only two pieces of equipment he's managed to assimilate: His jetpack. He can now fly with it but is clearly struggling in his gliding/stopping/manoeuvring in a way natural born fliers do not. The other he's assimilated is a pair of gun turrets that are now attached to his forearms and hooked into his energy lines so they, too, use his arc energy as ammo.
POWER ADJUSTMENT
In order to not break the game, I'll scale down the extent of this ability in the following ways:
Daylight cannot assimilate weaponry or machinery, period, unless is advanced enough for him to have a conversation with (see: machine empathy/communication below). If he can't talk to it then he can't bond with it. His jetpack also no longer works in terms of letting him fly but I hope he can still wiggle and move his winglets independently still.
MACHINE EMPATHY/COMMUNICATION
A recent ability that Daylight discovered is that he can communicate with different forms of technology, strictly machinery, computers, and other forms of electronics. Upon having physical contact with the machine in question, he can converse with the machine either verbally (much easier for him) or telepathically (more difficult for him).
The item can be understood by Daylight and Daylight, in return, can be understood by the item. Not only that but he can sense the feelings/emotions of the item while he communicates with it and he can possibly influence it with his own feelings too. Depending on how well he coaxes the machine to do as he requests, he can have the machinery hack systems, restore information, give him access to codes, and so on.
POWER ADJUSTMENT
In order to not break the game, I'll scale down the extent of this ability. The machines will only be able to say one word to him and that one word only to him if he attempts to persist a conversation with them. Though he can feel their emotions and feelings, it’ll be up to Daylight to interpret the meaning.

Flaws/Weaknesses:
GENERAL
Daylight is still a teenager, of course. Teenagers are not known for being great bastions of maturity. He's an emotional individual, prone to following his heart against all odds (and all sense of logic or common sense) because he follows his instincts. Sometimes that turns out well. Sometimes that turns out into a disaster. He can take things too personally at times.
He's also extremely insecure about himself and his sense of worth. With growing up in the shadows of both his parents and his family's grand achievements, feeling like he needs to make himself worth the effort and love they gave him, Daylight has this need to prove himself. So he can be a stubborn boy in search of glory. Not only that but it is obvious. He can be easily manipulated at times, thanks to his too trusting nature, and it has happened before and it's bitten him hard on the butt. (See: Him being dead.)
And though Daylight knows how to fight, he's not amazing at it. That title belongs to Nightbreak, the resident muscles/fighter of Daylight's friends. If he had to keep the enemies distracted? That's great! He's a crackshot and he can keep them on their toes for a little while. If he had to go one-on-one with them with just his training? No. He's going to lose the fight since he's not trained for that and, if he can, he rather not fight if he's been made to believe there's another way. (Which is something that has been taken advantage of, again. There's a reason Nightbreak needs to break helms.)
HYBRID HICCUPS
It turns out that being a mishmash of two wildly incompatible races makes their resulting baby have issues. Daylight's physiology is a mess, to be frank. It's a hodgepodge of human organs and Galateion inner systems merged together in ways that shouldn't be merged. As a result, he struggles to do basic things like eat rations or food, because he either has a specific blend of arc fuel given to him or he eats the blandest produce known to man. Anything else will severely mess up his filtering systems and no one wants to deal with that.
This has also affected his health. Human medicine has had an effect on him but not enough to be considered strong enough. If he gets hurt then it'll be a whole world of trouble for him since he doesn't have Meddy. Daylight doesn't know how to articulate his injuries or what's wrong with him since others have handled it before and he never felt like he had to learn.
GALATEION BLUES
Having a father who hails from a race of technorganic mechanoids who are fifteen feet on average means you get some whacky genes, appearance wise. Daylight sticks out like a sore thumb. Let's get that one out of the way. He's not sneaky and will never be sneaky due to his appearance: Colourful due to his red-and-gold paintjob and with a height that's over ten feet tall. Very colourful and he's ten feet tall. Not great at stealth.
He doesn't even get to have anything properly cool from his father's side. He's arguably more human than Galateion - he looks humanoid like his mother and not vaguely robotic/alienish/horrific like his father - and it's reflected in the lack of features/traits that normal Galateions have. He doesn't have an integrated subspace panel nor an integrated weapons system. He doesn't have the Galateions' environmental adaptation ability to acclimate to new surroundings. He's very grumpy about this too and has been known to pout about it.

Personality:
The most important thing to know about Daylight is that he was raised on the stories of fantastical adventures, daring rescues, and impossible wins. He sees the world with rose coloured optics thanks to his sheltered and monitored upbringing and it's easy to tell he's in awe of his surroundings no matter where he is. It does cause him to be naive and short-sighted, however. While he means well, Daylight struggles to see the bigger picture of a situation and the reality of something terrible hits him hard. For he loves and he loves a lot, always happy to extend a hand. It does cause him to get burned and, in the past, he's gotten burned hard. But it won't stop him. For he loves fiercely and passionately and endlessly, refusing to let anything slow him down.
Daylight is a lot of things, good and bad and annoying, but that isn't to say he's without any merit. Daylight is resourceful and intelligent, willing to take risks if push comes to shove and something or someone tries to hurt those he cares for. He can think on his feet when he needs to, rising to the occasion if the situation got tough. He's brave in the reckless, stubborn sort of way only teenagers can be if faced with something that scared them but refused to admit scares them. Not when others are relying on them somehow, not when they need to look the something in the eye and tell it to bugger off or else to protect what he loves.
But make no mistake - Daylight is brilliant in his own way. He simply does not see it as-as a great skill set because so what if he has an eye for words, a voice for music, and an understanding of shapes and colours? Being able to string words together in a song or sonnet or sketch out the landscape isn't all that impressive with frontliners and heavy hitters. But these are talents all the same, beautiful ones he does enjoy but can't bring himself to find useful yet. Others may see the potential in him as a great writer and poet and artist and more but Daylight doesn't. Not yet at least. Because honestly? It makes sense for him to be talented in the arts. Something that demands introspection of the world around them, an admiration of the universe that one calls home.
Daylight has an appreciation for life and clearly wants to be part of it judging by his cheerful and sunny demeanour, his eagerness to make friends and meet new faces. Jubilant and excitable, with stars practically sparkling in his optics if he takes his helmet off, Daylight shows the world his cards whether he means to or not. He wants to know himself and needs to figure this out. He's brimming with potential that's good, bad, and in-between. He needs to learn how to differentiate them and is eager to do so.

Items:
● His accessorise subspace panel. - A panel that's manually attached to Daylight. The panel mimics a Galateon's naturally integrated subspace panel, tapping into Daylight's access to the interdimensional foldvoid known commonly as overspace. This is where a Galateion can store their personal belongings without the use of equipment pouches and the like. How much they can carry varies but, from what's been observed, it's usually half the Galateion's weight.
Upon his arrival, Daylight will no longer be able to access this panel due to being away from Emergency Aid and Dialup and his stuff would have been ejected out. Listed items that came due to being inside the panel will be noted with a plus ( + ) sign.
● Arc Gun. - A green-grey scout rifle. It's fuelled by the excess arc energy Daylight produces from himself. It can hold a total of four rounds inside of it, with each shot packing a heck of a punch. How many rounds he has left in the gun is indicated by how bright the two orbs are on the side of the Arc Gun.
● ( + ) A picture of him and his friends. A polaroid that depicts him, Nightbreak, Dialup, and Emergency Aid posing outside a fountain in the middle of the afternoon. This was taken during their shore leave on Eitune and seems to be taken by someone else. The only one visibly smiling in this group is Daylight because of course.
● ( + ) Luxian Tear gem. - A gorgeous gemstone that seems to hold a galaxy in itself, glowing a faint pale blue haze. It's a charm that he received as a gift from Emergency Aid, his boyfriend, during their anniversary and it's something Daylight holds dearly.
● ( + ) Art materials. - A collection of art supplies that Daylight uses for his sketches and drawings. Consists of three sketchpads, along with professional pastels and markers set and some charcoal sticks. He’s very careful with these considering how expensive they were in getting…!
● ( + ) Silversilk blanket. - A large and silky feeling blanket coloured a deep midnight blue. It’s soft to the touch and, if you hold it up to your nose and take a deep breath, you can smell the faintest hints of summer and flowers on it. A little frayed at the edges but Daylight will guard this with his life to protect it.
