WORLD HISTORY INFORMATION.
Becoming an orphan while still a baby, Daylight was raised with of his parents and his family being heroes of the universe he lived in. His mother was one of the greatest intergalactic ambassadors to grace the political stage. His father was a decorated war veteran of the Legacy War and the one who brought back the Wandering Wonders who helped usher renewals to a dying world.
Daylight wanted to travel the stars and make his mark on the worlds out there. He ran away from his guardians since, while they meant well, they were stifling him with their overprotectiveness. Out of luck and gumption, Daylight more or less smuggled himself onto the Shattered Star, the famous starship that his parents were part of. He had a series of colourful adventures along the way, slowly maturing as he made friends - specifically Emergency Aid (who would later become his boyfriend), Dialup, and Nightbreak - and gained new powers.
One of the turning points in his life is the 'chance encounter' he had with a Furian scholar who went by Erinyes 'Erin' Euryale. Daylight came to look to Erin as an older sister and though his friends - especially Emergency Aid - were suspicious, Daylight couldn't bring himself to doubt her. He put a lot of trust into Erin and so it hurt a lot to realise the truth too late: She was part of a group of extremists, one that believed no real universal peace could happen if the Galateions continued to exist. Especially ones heavily involved in the Legacy War.
Erin wanted revenge for the fact the Dreadroids wiped out her planet and committed countless atrocities to her and her race. She integrated herself into Daylight's life to gain access to the Shattered Star and her real target: The long-thought dead leader of the Dreadroids during the final (and most brutal) period of the Legacy War, Nemesism. He had his processors and identity stripped after the war's conclusion. He was reformatted into the peaceful and mute Cloudshift, a janitorial member of the Shattered Star who was kept tabs on those who were in on the secret. She attempted to assassinate him but Daylight intervened, taking the shot that all but ripped him in two.
Though he survived thanks to Emergency Aid's desperate intervention, it caused unknown fail-safes in him to break. Strange and unnerving memories involving his family to come back to him. One that spoke of prophecies. One that showed his mother's coldness to him, his aunt's and uncle's inaction to when he called for help. Ones that hinted there was more to his birth than meets the eye.
Disturbed by both memories and the unnerving realisation that parents could be complicit in what happened to Nemesism/Cloudshift, Daylight, with the help of his friends, began to dig deeper. Friends of his parents beg him not to do it but he continued to chase after leads and hunt down the truth and, well, he got it.
He learned not only were his parents complicit with the reformatting of Nemesism but he learned of an unnerving doomsday prophecy that his parents knew: How it foretold the 'union of two worlds' being needed to help save the universe from evil, even if it came at the cost of 'life spilled' at the end. How his parents agreed to have him and raise him to tackle this personally, with Auntie Laura and Uncle Leeds reluctantly going along with this.
This onslaught of the truth proved too much for Daylight. He left the Shattered Star and fled into space, mind reeling at the choices before him: Should he die to fulfill what was expected of him or should he be selfish and risk putting others into danger?
Thankfully, his friends were chasing after him all the while. Daylight attempted to dodge his friends, unsure of his worth, but his boyfriend was able to track down Daylight just before they wound up stuck on a hostile planet. The circumstances of their situation forced Daylight to communicate and trust Emergency Aid, despite his fears. It helped him realise trying to flee from it all couldn't work forever. He had to face it but, at least, he wouldn't have to do it alone. Emergency Aid reaffirmed his love for Daylight and promised that, no matter what happened he and other others cared for Daylight because he's Daylight.
When Dialup and Nightbreak came to rescue them, Daylight was now ready to tackle his biggest challenge: The circumstances of the prophecy becoming a reality.
A self-declared god-king revealed himself, announcing that he's been building a machine that can tear the stars apart and ignite their worlds in endless fire. Daylight and co. confronted him and, when presented with the choice to give up his 'mistake of a life' to the god-king to stave off the machinations for a few centuries if he was so desperate to stop him, Daylight refused. It was now or never and he knew his friends and his partner would be there.
In the end, it's Nightbreak who ende up being the saviour foretold. She landed a killing blow on the god-king in her attempts to keep him distracted while the other three destroyed the doomsday device. It accidentally (but beautifully) fulfilled the line 'life spilled is the saviour' since her faterism is the Lifespiller, a title she wasn't proud of until that moment.
With the universe now safe from this evil and with a weight lifted off him, Daylight was able to move on and wash his hands of the expectations that were placed on by others, intentional or not. He formally left the Shattered Star but continued to wander the galaxies with his friends and his partner, Emergency Aid. Travelling together as a band of adventurers who helped those along the way.
Because, even after all that's happened and all that's been done, Daylight still wanted to travel the stars and make his mark on the worlds out there. He'll see to it.

Personality:
⭕ BURNS SO BRIGHT.
There's no denying that Daylight is passionate. He has an appreciation for life and clearly wants to be part of it judging by his cheerful and sunny demeanour along with his eagerness when it comes to making friends. Though he's not quite the bouncing ball of sunshine he once was, there's no denying the sense of excitement and jubilation he gives off when exploring new worlds or tackling challenges ahead of him. He's someone who enjoys life to the fullest, refusing to sit out of anything.
⭕ TO THE END.
One of his best qualities is how loyal he is. Daylight was raised on the importance of ties and relationships, how you can make the impossible possible if you worked together. He will pull out all the stops for those he cares for, willing to move the stars themselves for them. Whether it's being a steady rock for someone to lean on during desperate times or being someone's personal cheerleader to give them confidence, Daylight tries to put his best foot forward since he believes in giving it his all.
⭕ EVER EXPERSSIVE.
Daylight is also emotionally honest and friendly. He's never shy in admitting what he's thinking whether it's himself or someone else. He does his best to get along with others, however, and never goes out of his way to be aggressive. He's sociable and friendly, always happy to meet new faces and he loves learning anything he comes across if there's a time and a place for it.
❌ HEAT OF THE MOMENT.
Though Daylight has been making strides to get better on this issue, he does have a problem of being overemotional. Daylight has allowed his heart to rule his head time and again, letting his emotions get the best of him. It's easy to wind Daylight up as a result, getting him easily frustrated or flustered if one needles him just enough and doesn't let up.
❌ LIKE AN OPEN BOOK.
If there's a fatal flaw in Daylight, it's the fact he's always been easy to read. He makes no attempts to hide his feelings or thoughts, allowing others to use it against him. It's what Erin Euryale took advantage of when integrating herself into Daylight's life, picking up on his want of someone to consider family - To the point that he refused to believe the concerns his friends brought up. Its' something he's aware of but struggles to address to this day.
❌ BURNING AT BOTH ENDS.
He still has a nasty habit of working himself exhausted or pushing himself too hard when he's committed to a mission or a job. Daylight can easily tire himself out if he's not careful, trying to burn the candles at both ends to do what he thinks is his part of the team. He often stretches himself thin as a result and can make him sloppy, make mistakes he normally wouldn't make if not for how busy/loaded he made himself become.

Powers/Abilities:
GALATEION GENETICS.
Galateions are an adaptive and sentient robotic alien race. (Not necessarily a humanoid race, as they can reach to up to sixty feet in height and come in a variety of literal shapes and forms.) The most unique feature of a Galateion is their rapid adaption to new foreign environments, their systems and frames able to spontaneously/dynamically develop when faced with outside threats to their frames.
Due to being a hybrid of a (mostly) human being and a Galateion native, Daylight has a limited form of this adaption as he's heavily influenced by his mother's genetics to retain a humanoid form. He can survive extreme and sudden changes in temperatures, can breathe underwater, and doesn't suffer from short-circuiting if he gets wet. But he's unable to survive intense atmospheric pressure, cannot see underwater if it's dark, and needs a specialised suit to breathe in space if he's out of a shuttle or ship.
He also has an emission field, also known as an EM Field. An EM Field is something a Galateion generates thanks to their core and internal systems. It's capable of creating a series of magnetic/electrical waves that they can control in terms of frequencies and intensity. Galateions often use this to project or explain feelings/concepts that are often difficult to explain in words, picked up by another's field or frequency. It usually comes in the form that can be best described as a rolling wave, an inevitable succession of emotion-emotion-emotion or sometimes emotion-emotion-concept/thought if Daylight is having difficulty articulating what he feels/thinks.
ETERNAL EFFICIENCY SYSTEM.
Due to his unique physiology thanks to being a successful hybrid between a human and a Galatieon, Daylight is special in a very important way: His system's core — or ‘heart’ in the closest equivalent in human terminology — is able to both pump out and consume arc fuel and energy at a steady and consistent rate. It’s a sort of Ouroboros situation but this is good for him as it means he never needs to worry about running low on fuel or energy unlike normal Galateions, who need a regular intake of arc fuel to continue functioning in a proper manner.
This little quirk of Daylight's is officially known as an 'eternal efficiency system' after it was discovered and because of how it works. Daylight does not need to eat or drink sustenance to keep himself alive or healthy. (Not that he can eat if he wanted to at any given time. Thanks to his systems being a weird mishmash of two very different races of organic and nonorganic species, Daylight has a strict diet that he must adhere to at all costs if he wants to eat. If he attempts to consume something that his body cannot process for whatever reason, his body will force him to purge it out of his systems for his own safety.)
ARC ENERGY MANIPULATION/GENERATION.
There are times he produces too much arc energy thanks to adrenaline/boosts in his systems during combat or other stressful situations. Daylight uses this to his advantage, however, and can now summon and control the excess arc energy he produces. He's been taught and trained to gather up the excess arc energy to use as he sees fit. Often using it in combat by attacking at his opponents through energy blasts or fuelling his Arc Gun as ammunition or using it to shock his opponents.
He can also force himself to produce the excess energy to manipulate as he sees fit, discovering this ability by accident while goofing around with friends one day. It’s an ability he can call up at any time — If he's willing to go through the dangerous risk of energy bleedout and a deadly system shutdown, should he abuse his system’s core too much by demanding it to generate excess arc energy more than it should since the whole point of his eternal efficiency system is supposed to keep him at equilibrium.
AVATAR HOLOFORM GENERATION.
One of the special things that Daylight inherited from his father's genetics is the unique ability where Galateions can produce a hardlight avatar holoform if they enter into stasis mode. Known informally as an avaform, Galateions can project this holoform out and be able to still interact with their surroundings if they need to hide. They're able to hold and feel things with the avaform but they can't eat or drink anything as it'll go straight to the floor otherwise.
Daylight's avaform takes on the appearance of a tall man with dark eyes and hair, who sports bomber jackets and tinted aviator shades most of the time. Due to his unique assimilation powers, Daylight was able to update his avaform where he can wear it 'over' himself so he isn't forced to go into stasis mode. Anyone touching him, however, will be able to tell he is made of metal than flesh and cloth.
FORCE FIELD GENERATION.
Like his mother, Daylight has the ability to silently summon a shield around himself and others. It comes in the form of a nearly invisible dome that encases Daylight and those around him, often shimmering a faint gold and red sheen if it's struck. It's immune to most physical attacks like blows, cannon blasts, shots, and so on though it will cave into pressure and force if it's applied long enough against it. Though he has no need for it, the shield is able to generate its own internal atmosphere, allowing individuals to survive in it should they need such factors such as breathing air and consistent temperature.
Daylight is able to not only summon his shield with little effort but he can increase the size at will or send it or multiple other shields to protect other individuals within five hundred feet of his range of vision. A setback of this power is how this can wear him out easily, just like how it could wear out his mother, and cause him to experience energy bleedout and cause backfiring — His arc energy becoming too difficult to control and exploding as a result.
MACHINERY ASSIMILATION.
Another unique thing about him is that Daylight can graft/assimilate outside parts of machinery unto his body and have his frame accept it as another extension of itself. It’s not easy as this description is making it sound, however. For one thing, it takes time and effort for Daylight’s frame to adjust to this new piece of equipment since there’s a risk of it opting to reject the machine outright if it deems it too foreign or different from Daylight’s own systems. Daylight has struggled to get his body to accept the item but it seems, in this case, he doesn't have a say on it.
And if his frame does accept the new installation, he'll still need to learn how to use the new extension of himself. Almost like how one learns how to swim. An example of this is the jetpack his frame has properly assimilated after a mission. It took him a while before he could properly fly with it as he struggled to adapt to gliding, coasting, landing, and other things that would be second nature for the natural-born flierbuilds and their flight enhancements/extensions.
MACHINE EMPATHY/COMMUNICATION
Stemming from the above ability, Daylight can also communicate with different forms of technology - Which, in this instance, is strictly computers, machine-powered devices, and other forms of electronics. In order for this ability to work, Daylight must have physical contact with the machine in question as he converses with it - WHether he does this verbally (which is easier for him but limits communications with the machine in question) or telepathically (which is more difficult for him but he can better understand the machine in the progress).
The machine can be understood by Daylight and Daylight, in return, can be understood by the machine. Not only that but he can sense the feelings/emotions of the item while he communicates with it and he can also influence it with his own feelings. If given time, Daylight can coax to do as he requests long as it falls within reasonable limits of its abilities and does not put another living individual (be it himself or a theoretical third party) in harm's way.

Regret:
Letting the real identity of Cloudshift be discovered and known. Erin wouldn't have been able to deduce the correlation between Nemesism and Cloudshift if Daylight hadn't allowed her so much freedom to roam the Shattered Star as his guest, despite friends' pleas and warnings of her behaviour leading up to the assassination attempt.
Though Daylight has complicated feelings about the circumstances surrounding Nemesism's reformatting and the fact Nemesism did lead the most brutal period of the Legacy War, leaving no mercy or quarter to enemies and hapless victims alike, he knows Cloudshift is an innocent in this messed-up situation. He would like, if possible, to have the identity become a secret again so the poor weaponless Galateion will not be targeted by anyone who would either punish them for things they have no memory of or turn them into some sort of pawn.

Inventory:
🔹 ACCESSORIES SUBSPACE PANEL.
A panel that was once manually attached to Daylight, now part of his actually frame thanks to assimilation. The panel mimics a Galateon's naturally integrated subspace panel, tapping into Daylight's access to the interdimensional foldvoid known commonly as overspace. This is where a Galateion can store their personal belongings without the use of equipment pouches and the like. How much they can carry varies but Daylight allows him to carry things up to a total of ten (10) lbs maximum.
🔹 MEDICAL KIT.
A medical kit that's catered to a Galateion - Specifically containing mesh bandages, items that are essentially welding tools, thing metal sheets for quick patches, and so on.
🔹 ARC GUN.
A green-grey scout rifle. It's fuelled by the excess arc energy Daylight produces from himself. It can hold a total of four rounds inside of it, with each shot packing a heck of a punch. How many rounds he has left in the gun is indicated by how bright the two orbs are on the side of the Arc Gun.
🔹 LUXIAN TEAR GEM.
A gorgeous gemstone that seems to hold a galaxy in itself, glowing a faint pale blue haze. It's a charm that he received as a gift from Emergency Aid, his husband, during their anniversary and it's something Daylight holds dearly.
🔹 EVERLIGHT CHARM.
A delicate orb made from auzirsol crystals and is encased in delicate gold chains. The gold markings on the surface of the orb indicate his marriage to Emergency Aid. It fits in the palm of Daylight's servo and it hums when being held by anyone, radiating a gentle warmth.
🔹 ART MATERIALS.
A collection of art supplies that Daylight uses for his sketches and drawings. Consists of three sketchpads, along with professional pastels and markers set and some charcoal sticks.
