-Yeah. Sure.

[ daylight ducks under the doorway as he properly emerges from his house, stretching out his limbs as he unfolds to his full height upon getting to the fence. ] On a scale of one to ten, how weird is it?

[Sans hardly reacts to Daylight's height increase; by all accounts even as Daylight's neighbor Sans definitely got used to that remarkably quickly. But Sans is pretty short, so maybe it's just that he's already used to looking up at people?]

Probably depends on your perspective. If I'd found it before New Year's it'd definitely be at least a seven, but maybe it's like a four now. [This is beside the point, but Sans is actually double checking to make sure none of the actual citizens of Santa Rosita are around.]

[ huh. colour daylight very intrigued now. (also, thank god sans doesn't find the change weird or is commenting on it. he's had to field so many jokes about basketballs as is.)

he leans- okay no. he first crouches down then leans on the first, showing sans as his attention. he also looks around but, so far, it's just the two of them outside. ] Oh, really? Must be something interesting either way, if it would be a seven before the repeat.

I found this photo in the police chief's wallet of some kids in Halloween costumes. [Never mind how he got the wallet to look in it in the first place.] The costumes seem pretty recent, by this place's standards, but the photo itself's super old. [Like 1961 has been happening for a while or something.]

[ judging by the way daylight's eyebrows shoot up, he's definitely wondering how sans got close enough to the wallet, let alone the photo.

but hey- this got them a clue of some sort, at least. ]

Huh. So this has been going on for a while. That's... Not good. [ no kidding, daylight.

he drums his fingers on his thighs, stewing over the information for a bit. ] Did the photo have anything else on it? Like anything written on it? Or did the kids look familiar to you?

Nah. I checked the back, but it felt like it was gonna fall apart if I messed with it too much. It was one kid in a clown costume with a mask and one kid in a--prince costume, maybe? One of those jack-o-lanterns in the middle of them. [Nobody he recognized, but Sans hasn't gone around trying to memorize the kids who live here.]

Huh.

[ something about the description... daylight closed his eyes, trying to remember something that was just on the tip of his tongue. it's frustrating to try and keep track of all the weird stuff that's been happening lately, with how much happens so fast. ] It's safe to assume it's Halloween for them then, right? Halloween in the 1960s at the very least.

Do you remember a... [ what was it? ] An incident? Back in that weird October experience we had? Before we got mobbed by zombie children?

[ he remembers that bit very well, having had to punt one of them off someone. ]

Yeah. Since I was checkin' on the costumes anyway, I checked up on that whole thing, and as far as I can tell, it still happened. They're all still--well, I guess missing, officially. [The people in charge don't seem to be very aware of the things that happen in town that involve zombies and deer creatures and corpses in snowmen.

It may be a little surprising Sans even remembers the whole bus crash thing, given his usual attitude is as lazy as humanly (heh) possible.] Didn't start trackin' down names or anything, though. Might be worth someone's time.

[ the opportunity is there and daylight takes it with both hands: ] I can give it a shot.

[ daylight has been itching to do some proper reconnaissance done since his arrival here. it's what he does best and he's not letting this opportunity slide.

not only but since he did try to track down the family of the bus driver in the past and succeed with the help of kiara, he thinks it'll be a good time to pick up this trail again. he's grateful sans is sharing this with him, he really is. ] I'll probably rope someone in to help me out if you're okay with me sharing this?

I have a few people in mind who might be interested in helping out. A lot of them have been itching to dig into the town's secrerts.

Go nuts, as long as the people who're from here don't find out. If you guys figure it out, then I don't have to do any more work. [Work is terrible! He went to a library and everything!] Would've posted it on the watches, except, y'know, this place gave 'em to us.

[ sans is the real one in the gang, willing to work. ]

That's a good call. I think for stuff like this, in person is the best way to go about it for the time being. [ it's why daylight hasn't shared anything too big on it. might have complained a bit about the town and its people but come on- ] Think any of us here could find a way if the walkie-talkie things are bugged or have the potential to get bugged?

I would try to talk to the devices but I don't have that ability anymore.

[ at least for now. kiara mentioning she got a power (of several?) back after december does give him hope. ]

That's a thing you could do? Cool. [Sounds convenient. If Sans could talk to the TV, he'd never have to get up even when he lost the remote.] As far as these things, [Sans says, eyeing the one on his wrist], well, I ain't a repairman, but it probably depends on how the signals are going out, yeah? If these're real old computers, we'd need to get our own servers just to start.

[So much effort and Sans isn't sure if walkie-talkie watches are worth it.]

A location to put them in, cooling systems to keep them from overheating, and not to mention the energy that'll be required to keep them running.

[ yeah. that's a lot of stuff but it's also old technology. if they actually have to do this, daylight thinks he can help out in it in terms of logistics. and maybe electrical supply, too, if he ever gets those back.

they only have to tackle the issue when they really need to. for now- ] We just gotta be careful what we say on this for a while. So if you ever want to hang out somewhere and shoot the wind or swap super secret spy stuff, you and your friends are always welcomed here.
