Excitable and easy to please and with the brightest smile on his face at all times, Daylight really does live up to his name.

No matter what life throws at him, he does his best to be a ball of sunshine, a source of positivity in any given scenario. Daylight laughs and jokes as if he has no care in the world, daring it to do something about it. While some may accuse of him not taking things seriously because of his upbeat and chapter attitude — and sometimes they maybe correct in this assumption, given how Daylight is a flighty young thing — he keeps the smile on his face not to mock others but to show others he believes in them. He believes in them and he believes in the best of them and is confident that their situation will be in their favour soon enough. He just won’t smile and hope for the best, of course.

Daylight is a go-getter and not one for idle hands, idle mind. He’s someone who will, while not take charge, be in the frontlines and spearhead the movement if he throws his hat into the ring. He’s active and eager to get involved in something. Especially if the something means they help others in need since he has a big heart and wants to help others, wants to follow in the footsteps of those who raised him and tried their level best in helping others too.

Because of this you’d think he’ll be into nothing except sports and the like but that isn’t the case. Not exactly. While he does favour active hobbies and tasks that allows him to burn his boundless amount of energies, Daylight surprisingly has a sensitive side to him. Though his fumbling with words when speaking may not hint at it, he is amazing at writing and at the arts. He loves to draw, to write, to sing. He adores nature — especially flowers, perhaps inheriting it from his mother’s side — and loves to garden if the chance comes up.

Not that he’ll tell anyone about this. Daylight so badly wants to prove the world he’s more than his parents, the famous Healing Eclipse AKA Lorem Laurel and Radiance vis Noxolarium, the Sundered Star. Having never gotten to know them personally, he was raised on stories where they were legends and giants, stars and lights in their own ways and it makes him feel very insecure. He feels the weight of expectations weighing on his shoulders, feels history’s eyes on him with every choice and decision he males. He both admires them and is eager to prove he’s better than them, wanting to make them proud and wanting to show he’s so much more than their son.

He wants a lot and it shows. He can’t help but it show it since Daylight reveals the world his cards whether he means to or not. His emotions and feelings being quick to be read in his emission field or on his face. He’s passionate if aimless, sweet-natured if vacillating, meaning well and wanting only the best for others if he doesn’t think that’s meant for someone like him. Daylight is still growing up, considered only the equivalency of ‘eighteen’ to a Galateion, and he’s trying to find his way in the world now that he’s opted to strike out on his own. He's emotional and full of thoughts and ideas and opinions like any young fire as they grow up, flickering and flaring and burning bright.

Because Daylight, at the end of the day, only wants to know himself and needs to figure this out. He's brimming with potential that's good, bad, and in-between. He needs to learn how to differentiate them and is eager to do so.

They are often the life of the party but they are less interested in the sheer excitement and pleasure of the moment than they are in enjoying the social and emotional connections they make with others. They are charming, independent, energetic and compassionate.

HISTORY
( CURRENTLY. . . ) Currently on the Lornful Light, Daylight vis Lornlit is doing his best to prove himself worthy to the veteran members of the legendary ship that once housed his mother and father during the fateful voyage that would bring back the Wandering Wonders.

Now part of Team Trailblazer with his friends, Daylight is eager to continue his missions and hopes to learn more about his parents' pasts that go beyond the stories and tales he grew up with...

On March 20, 2120, Daylight was born on the brightest day on Galateon was also born into a great legacy. His mother was Lorem Laurel, the Earth’s first World Representative for the Galactic Union of Worlds along with being one of the famous founders of the intergalactic organisation. His father was Radiance vis Noxolarium, the Sundered Star, a Galateion veteran of the Legacy War, and the first captain of the Lornful Light and the head of the expedition that would eventually bring back the Wandering Wonders who would help bring his home planet, Galateon, back to life. Daylight only knows his parents through stories and accounts since they passed away when he was very young.

He spent his informative years with Laura Costol and Leeds Ascii, close friends of Lorem Laurel, after Lorem passes away and he was placed under their care as dictated by her will. He spent most of his childhood with the pair and their respective families, living an idyllic and happy life in Dust Tumbles, the hometown for Lorem, Laura, and Leeds and where it began for all three. Surrounded by figures seemingly larger than life thanks to their past exploits and adventures, Daylight loved his ‘auntie’ and ‘uncle’ with all his heart and was distressed to be reminded of how different they were when Laura passed away in her 90s - a drop in the bucket for a hybrid like Daylight.


 No longer able to raise him, an elderly Leeds signs away his rights of guardianship to Breakthrough and Kingsguard — A couple of Galateions who have worked alongside Laura and Leeds in their organisation for decades. Daylight finds himself uprooted from his previous life, and Dust Tumbles itself, and is moved to Neutral Grounds, Breakthrough’s research compound located on the moon. He spends the next forty years of his life there, living a monotonous and quiet routine that he chafes against.

Eventually the boredom and monotony gets the better of Daylight, as he wants to do something with his life like how his parents and previous guardians have done with theirs. At the first chance he gets, Daylight runs away from Neutral Grounds and heads back to Earth to figure out what to do with his life. He spends some years by himself, traveling the Old Farmlands to keep himself from being discovered while getting by on the kindness of strangers or helping out in farms that are struggling to get by. When he learns about the Lornful Light making a pitstop on Earth, he makes an impulsive decision to smuggle himself onto the ship and become a crew member.

After he convinces the crew to let him stay on the starship after he was discovered hiding in their supply cargo containers, Daylight finds himself going through the wringer in order to prove himself to the more veteran crew. A far cry from the starry-opticked visions he had while he was dreaming away at Dust Tumbles and Neutral Grounds. Despite the baggage of his hybrid status and his parents’ pasts, Daylight has been able to carve a life for himself amongst the Lornful Light crew, proving himself time and again to the crew when the occasion called for his skills or special touch. He manages to even make some friends there during his journey — Emergency Aid, Nightbreaker, and Dialup. The group of friends who soon band together to create a Fireteam known as Trailblazer.

It isn't always easy on the Lornful Light. Some still look down on him for their own reasons and don't think he's supposed to be here. Some see him and see only Radiance or Lorem and he gets the consequences of that, whether good or bad. Sometimes, if it's really crazy, he's struck by a sense of intense longing for his current guardians, the quietness and simplicity of Neutral Grounds. The Lornful Light and the endless barrage of adventures it gets involved can still be overwhelming at times despite his yearning for excitement. In the moments when he's tired and sore and unsure of his place while he looks up at the stars in the observation deck, Daylight finds himself wanting nothing more but to return to Neutral Grounds and curl up on soft bed with the assurance he won't be hurtling through an unstable wormhole or something.

Thankfully those urges fade as quick as they had come. For now he's getting by, helping others to the best of his abilities, and getting a chance to see more of the universe he fell in love with from the stories he's heard since he was a kid. That's all that matters to him.


ABILITIES
GALATEION GENETICS.
Galateions are an adaptive and sentient robotic alien race. (Not necessarily a humanoid race, as they can reach to up to sixty feet in height and come in a variety of literal shapes and forms.) The most unique feature of a Galateion is their rapid adaption to new foreign environments, their systems and frames able to spontaneously/dynamically develop when faced with outside threats to their frames.

Due to being a hybrid of a (mostly) human being and a Galateion native, Daylight has a limited form of this adaption as he's heavily influenced by his mother's genetics to retain a humanoid form. He can survive extreme and sudden changes in temperatures, can breathe underwater, and doesn't suffer from short-circuiting if he gets wet. But he's unable to survive intense atmospheric pressure, cannot see underwater if it's dark, and needs a specialised suit to breathe in space if he's out of a shuttle or ship.

He also has an emission field, also known as an EM Field. An EM Field is something a Galateion generates thanks to their core and internal systems. It's capable of creating a series of magnetic/electrical waves that they can control in terms of frequencies and intensity. Galateions often use this to project or explain feelings/concepts that are often difficult to explain in words, picked up by another's field or frequency. It usually comes in the form that can be best described as a rolling wave, an inevitable succession of emotion-emotion-emotion or sometimes emotion-emotion-concept/thought if Daylight is having difficulty articulating what he feels/thinks.
ETERNAL EFFICIENCY SYSTEM.
Due to his unique physiology thanks to being a successful hybrid between a human and a Galatieon, Daylight is special in a very important way: His system's core — or ‘heart’ in the closest equivalent in human terminology — is able to both pump out and consume arc fuel and energy at a steady and consistent rate. It’s a sort of Ouroboros situation but this is good for him as it means he never needs to worry about running low on fuel or energy unlike normal Galateions, who need a regular intake of arc fuel to continue functioning in a proper manner.

This little quirk of Daylight's is officially known as an 'eternal efficiency system' after it was discovered and because of how it works. Daylight does not need to eat or drink sustenance to keep himself alive or healthy. (Not that he can eat if he wanted to at any given time. Thanks to his systems being a weird mishmash of two very different races of organic and nonorganic species, Daylight has a strict diet that he must adhere to at all costs if he wants to eat. If he attempts to consume something that his body cannot process for whatever reason, his body will force him to purge it out of his systems for his own safety.)
ARC ENERGY MANIPULATION, GENERATION.
There are times he produces too much arc energy thanks to adrenaline/boosts in his systems during combat or other stressful situations. Daylight uses this to his advantage, however, and can now summon and control the excess arc energy he produces. He's been taught and trained to gather up the excess arc energy to use as he sees fit. Often using it in combat by attacking at his opponents through energy blasts or fuelling his Arc Gun as ammunition or using it to shock his opponents.

He can also force himself to produce the excess energy to manipulate as he sees fit, discovering this ability by accident while goofing around with friends one day. It’s an ability he can call up at any time — If he's willing to go through the dangerous risk of energy bleedout and a deadly system shutdown, should he abuse his system’s core too much by demanding it to generate excess arc energy more than it should since the whole point of his eternal efficiency system is supposed to keep him at equilibrium.
AVATAR HOLOFORM GENERATION.
One of the special things that Daylight inherited from his father's genetics is the unique ability where Galateions can produce a hardlight avatar holoform if they enter into stasis mode. Known informally as an avaform, Galateions can project this holoform out and be able to still interact with their surroundings if they need to hide. They're able to hold and feel things with the avaform but they can't eat or drink anything as it'll go straight to the floor otherwise.

Daylight's avaform takes on the appearance of a tall man with dark eyes and hair, who sports bomber jackets and tinted aviator shades most of the time. Due to his unique assimilation powers, Daylight was able to update his avaform where he can wear it 'over' himself so he isn't forced to go into stasis mode. Anyone touching him, however, will be able to tell he is made of metal than flesh and cloth.
FORCE FIELD GENERATION.
Like his mother, Daylight has the ability to silently summon a shield around himself and others. It comes in the form of a nearly invisible dome that encases Daylight and those around him, often shimmering a faint gold and red sheen if it's struck. It's immune to most physical attacks like blows, cannon blasts, shots, and so on though it will cave into pressure and force if it's applied long enough against it. Though he has no need for it, the shield is able to generate its own internal atmosphere, allowing individuals to survive in it should they need such factors such as breathing air and consistent temperature.

Daylight is able to not only summon his shield with little effort but he can increase the size at will or send it or multiple other shields to protect other individuals within five hundred feet of his range of vision. A setback of this power is how this can wear him out easily, just like how it could wear out his mother, and cause him to experience energy bleedout and cause backfiring — His arc energy becoming too difficult to control and exploding as a result.
MACHINERY ASSIMILATION.
Another unique thing about him is that Daylight can graft/assimilate outside parts of machinery unto his body and have his frame accept it as another extension of itself. It’s not easy as this description is making it sound, however. For one thing, it takes time and effort for Daylight’s frame to adjust to this new piece of equipment since there’s a risk of it opting to reject the machine outright if it deems it too foreign or different from Daylight’s own systems. Daylight has struggled to get his body to accept the item but it seems, in this case, he doesn't have a say on it.

And if his frame does accept the new installation, he'll still need to learn how to use the new extension of himself. Almost like how one learns how to swim. An example of this is the jetpack his frame has properly assimilated after a mission. It took him a while before he could properly fly with it as he struggled to adapt to gliding, coasting, landing, and other things that would be second nature for the natural-born flierbuilds and their flight enhancements/extensions.
MACHINE EMPATHY/COMMUNICATION
Stemming from the above ability, Daylight can also communicate with different forms of technology - Which, in this instance, is strictly computers, machine-powered devices, and other forms of electronics. In order for this ability to work, Daylight must have physical contact with the machine in question as he converses with it - WHether he does this verbally (which is easier for him but limits communications with the machine in question) or telepathically (which is more difficult for him but he can better understand the machine in the progress).

The machine can be understood by Daylight and Daylight, in return, can be understood by the machine. Not only that but he can sense the feelings/emotions of the item while he communicates with it and he can also influence it with his own feelings. If given time, Daylight can coax to do as he requests long as it falls within reasonable limits of its abilities and does not put another living individual (be it himself or a theoretical third party) in harm's way.
